BENEFICIARY

The Royal Parks Foundation (2004 - 2008):

The Royal Parks Foundation aims to raise appreciation of the value of the Royal Parks, and to help nurture and safeguard these magnificent open spaces so they can be enjoyed to the full by this and future generations.

It costs nearly £30 million per year to keep the Royal Parks safe and clean, in beautiful condition and bursting with life. This covers the essential of day-to-day maintenance, but there is so much more that can be done. That is the challenge facing the parks today - realising their enormous potential.

The Royal Parks Foundation was established as a registered charity in May 2003, with exactly this challenge in mind. The Foundation is committed to raising additional funds in order to protect what we have inherited from the past, support what we are doing in the present, and create new opportunities for the future.

Funds donated by these events to the Royal Parks Foundation are used for environmental and planting projects in Regent's Park.

The Prince of Wales' Royal Parks Tree Appeal (1998 - 2002):

The Prince of Wales' Royal Parks Appeal The great storm of 1987 devastated the trees in London's nine Royal Parks. His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales, immediately requested that a fund be started to help repair the damage. Over the past decade, the Royal Parks have been largely restored. But the work of the Appeal goes on, replacing old and diseased trees, and funding special projects such as the restoration of the Avenue Gardens to its original 1860's design.
